I love getting feedback from people who visit here and am particularly tickled when jewellers and designers visit. Recently, I received notification that Oyindoubara started to follow my blog, so I wandered over for a look. Lots of pretty beaded pieces with a large element of giving back.
The artist’s statement is further up on this page, but I really like the charitable element: “Beads for Knowledge is a program setup to help keep disadvantaged kids in school as lack of education has been one of the driving factors of poverty and unemployment in the African continent.
During my time in college as I came face to face with this issue through various class projects and activities, I wondered how I could help contribute my solution to this problem. After taking a look at some of the skills I had, I decided to use my passion & love for making jewelry to help save children from the snares of poverty, illiteracy and future unemployment. To empower them with the most important game changing tool a person could ever possess. With education, I believe each person is empowered to changed their lives and hopefully the lives of others in their community around the world. To creatively think up ways to improve their situations and not depend solely on family or relatives or the government for decent living.
So with each piece of jewelry sold, I help pay for the tuition of a child to keep them in school & give them a better tomorrow.”
So you can score a great piece of jewellery and help someone pursue an education. It doesn’t get better than that.
This piece is made with an Italian horn charm, rhinestone beads and comes on a gold plated chain. I have a soft spot for horn pieces and the horn shape since seeing Diana Vreeland’s gigantic horn necklace, something she was rarely seen without in her later years. This is a very reasonable $35.49 on the designer’s site.

Thanks so so much for your review and for checking my blog out. It means a lot to me and the brand for recognizing the efforts been made and actually speaking about it on your blog. Thanks so much! (Aren’t I glad I found your blog? 🙂 )
Will be sharing this on my blog,Facebook page, Twitter & Instagram. Are you on any of these networks?
