Years ago, I met a guy whose family crest was a hedgehog. Just a hedgehog – no shields or other heraldry. Apparently you had to marry into the family to get one and I was ready – I wanted that ring! Hedgehogs are a fairly adorable symbol (not sure how adorable they are in person and not willing to find out…).
