Jewel of the day: Antique Scottish Victorian Agate Bracelet

This antique Scottish bracelet is quite unique, as agate (or as it was also known, pebble) jewellery of this period usually featured green, carnelian coloured and reddish agates and they were usually used as inlays. The bracelet has much lighter colours and in my opinion, it makes it look quite contemporary. This piece has an almost deco look to it, though seller Laurelle Antique Jewellery dates it to about 1860. Set in silver, this sells for £425.
