I have several early pieces by Herve Van Der Straeten and love each one of them. His work is pretty much instantly identifiable, usually featuring hand hammered metal and forms reminiscent of Matisse collages.

This necklace is so large and bold, it requires a very neutral backdrop to set it off. (Net-A-Porter shows it here with a draped gown whose neckline really complements the design.)
