East-west stone settings have become very popular in the last couple of the years and I confess to being a fan.

This necklace is by Melinda Maria and is made with gold plated brass and what they call a simulated diamond. Can’t say I’m a big fan of that description. Does this mean glass, crystal, cubic zirconia, moissanite … what?  I prefer a bit more specificity when buying jewellery, even if it’s costume.
