This jewel was given to Queen Victoria by her groom Prince Albert in 1840 the night before her wedding and it was the only prominent piece of jewelry she wore for the wedding itself. It features a large cushion cut sapphire surrounded by 12 cushion cut diamonds set in yellow gold.

She wore it frequently (and it appears in a Winterhalter portrait of herWinterhalter portrait of her). As an heirloom of the Crown, it’s been worn by all queens subsequent to Victoria. It’s shown below on Queen Elizabeth.
