Jewel of the day: Aurate x Frye Lasso Bolo Necklace

The bolo necklace has an interesting and somewhat cloudy history. There is a Native American influence, and silversmith Victor Cedarstaff patented a bolo slide in 1959. It’s become an iconic piece of western wear.

This necklace by Aurate is a collaboration with western wear maker Frye. It’s sterling silver plated with gold and is an elegant take on this tradition. Their description: Draw them in with the Aurate x Frye: Lasso Bolo Necklace. The official state tie of Texas and New Mexico, we’ve elevated the humble bolo in sterling silver or gold vermeil. Slip it on and adjust the 32″ chain to your liking—it complements many necklines, from button-ups to strapless tops. Plus, we designed the slide closure to feel ultra-smooth.

It sells for USD$548.
