Jewel of the day: Jessica Ascough Design Edwardian Suffragette Style Necklace

Suffragette jewellery was meant to subtly show alliance with their cause during the Edwardian era, specifically, to help obtain the vote for women. The description of this necklace by Jessica Ascough Design gives a bit of the back story: Art Deco style antiqued brass necklace with vintage amethyst and peridot green set glass drops and white glass pearl cabochons to complete the Iconic Suffragette colours: purple for loyalty and dignity, white for purity and green for hope. This necklace has a fine, elegant, antiqued brass chain and measures 17 1/4″ (44cm) from end to end plus a 2 1/2″ (6cm) extender chain.”

This sells for CAD$100.25 (Sorry, Etsy has a country and currency selection but won’t actually allow me to change it!)
