Tiaras feel like an apt post for New Year’s Eve.

The Baden Fringe Tiara was a wedding gift to Victoria of Baden when she married into the Swedish royal family in 1881. In her will, she stipulated that it be worn by subsequent Swedish crown princesses; here, it is worn by current Crown Princess Victoria. Like many tiaras, it can be removed from its frame and worn as a necklace or breast piece.

The style is also and perhaps better known as the kokoshnik, made popular by the Russian royal family and simulating the style of a Russian headdress…. Only in diamonds.
