Robert Mapplethorpe is best known for his photography, but his personal style has also been an inspiration. Most recently, it spoke to Gaia Repossi, design director of the house of Repossi, who worked from photos and artifacts of pieces owned by Mapplethorpe.

Although the jewelry received an early showing at Dover Street Market in New York, it is reported it will be more widely available for sale this September, including Repossi’s take on the talismanic necklace he wore in this photo.
