Links of London debuted this charm as part of its now-discontinued “Watch Over Me” collection. They described the now sold out piece this way: “Watch Over Me is both whimsical yet profoundly symbolic, and bound to bring good fortune! The Serenity necklace comprises of the olive branch, white gold pave diamond set crescent moon, full moon in yellow gold with handset diamonds and sycamore – symbols of love, luck and protection. The necklace also incorporates the evil eye. Set in 18ct yellow gold they eye is made of topaz and onyx as is the pupil with diamonds set around its circumference. It offers protection and is overlooking, warning away evil. The lucky horseshoe doubles as the clasp fastening.”
Now Links has made available the evil eye as a separate charm or pendant. The necklace used topaz and onyx for the pupil of the eye; the pendant uses green and black glass instead. Links used to offer really amazing designs in gold and diamonds, but that stopped when the price of gold went stratospheric. Now that it has dropped considerably, I am hoping they and other jewellers and artisans will be able to continue to use gold in their work.
This piece, made of 18k yellow gold and set with .11 carats of white diamonds, sells for USD $895.
