Jewel of the day: BitterSweet Jewellery Angel Wing Pendant

Let’s face it – the angel wing motif has been done to death. We’ve all seen it on jewellery, on clothes in studs and rhinestones and everything in between, tattooed between shoulder blades and on biceps … it’s everywhere. And yet, it’s popularity endures. There is something about the angel wing that makes it a very versatile and beloved design.

Here, Toronto’s BitterSweet Jewellery shrinks it down (it’s a little less than a half-inch long) and offers two variations: black rhodium over 18k white or yellow gold, sprinkled with diamonds, or a more loose interpretation completely diamond set.  Both come on a VERY delicate gold chain. The all-diamond version reminds me of the milk drop coronet photo taken in 1957 by Dr. Harold Edgerton.

The rhodium wing sells for Cdn $528. I believe the other pendant is slightly more, at about $575, but don’t quote me on that.
