Last October, Princess Madeleine of Sweden became engaged to American/Briton Christopher O’Neill. Madeleine and her fiance are slated to marry this summer in Sweden.

No specs on the ring – kind of surprising, really – but it is rumoured to be either a four carat cushion or step cut ring in what looks to be a band adorned with micropave diamonds. Tough to tell from the photos that have been released.

Apparently, the couple bucked the trend of more modest centre stones (though I recall some pretty impressive bling on Princess Grace’s engagement ring, as well as the stone in the ring given to Camilla Parker-Bowles by Prince Charles). It’s very pretty, looks nice on her hand, and they love it – which is all that matters.
