This piece is a bit of mystery if all you’re going by is the designer’s web site. Very pretty site …. very light on information.

What I discovered from a brief article in the June issue of Elle Magazine is that Aesa is a label started by New Yorker Randi Mates, and the word comes from the Greek for destiny. She was trained to alloy her own gold and silver and works without power tools. My guess is that this necklace is made of brass. Very sinuous and reminds me of the work of both Henning Koppel for Jensen and Elsa Peretti in terms of the organic form. Find retailers for her work here and more designs on her website.
