When you see ancient pieces of jewellery, it brings home that though tastes may change over time, many pieces could still be considered fashionable long after they were created.
This necklace is approximately 1300 years old and was excavated from the grave of an early Christian woman in Harpole, England in 2022. It still looks like a piece women would wear today.
The reconstructed piece is seen below. It was constructed using Roman coins, glass, gold, garnets and semi-precious stones. The focal point is the square piece at the centre with a cross motif.
