Jewel of the day: MOMA Joan Miró Gold-Plated Dots Cuff Bracelet

I admit with no shame that one of my favourite aspects of museum visits is the gift shops, particularly the jewellery.

New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has always had a really diverse selection. They are currently offering designs based on the work of Joan Miró.

The site notes, “The Joan Miró Gold-Plated Dots Cuff Bracelet shows just how well the artist’s vision translates to wearable jewelry. Designed by family-owned Spanish brand Joidart in collaboration with Successió Miró, this open bracelet features 24k gold-plated metal and black enamel irregular circles taken from the 1941 artwork Chiffres et constellations amoureux d’une femme. Slide it on and wear it solo as an artful finishing touch or pair it with coordinating earrings from the same collection to make more of a sculptural statement. Every piece is conscientiously and locally made at a small factory in a mountain village using traditional artisanal techniques. The Joan Miró Gold-Plated Dots Cuff Bracelet measures 2.5” in diameter and can be adjustable. Miró’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection.”

This is priced at USD$85 for non members, and $76.50 for museum members.
