I’ve bought a few things from Lightbox and have found the quality to be excellent. I recently read that DeBeers, who owns the brand, have decided to wind it down and focus on their mined diamond business.
Lab diamond prices have been in a race to the bottom. When Lightbox launched their stones were USD$800 a carat and they’ve since fallen to $500. But you can easily get stones now for as little as $300 a carat so I can see why they likely decided to abandon this business.
Nothing is heavily on sale yet, but it’s worth watching. This pendant uses a square cut one carat white diamond set flush with the gold. It’s priced at USD$1,600. It’s also available in white gold and has a matching ring.
