The design of this ring by Roberto Coin makes me realize how many designs are used by several designers. This flower petal motif looks a lot like the Van Cleef & Arpels clover series or an element of the Louis Vuitton logo. This kind of design inspiration happens across brands and objects – the straps and buckles used by Hermes, for example, or the quilting beloved by Chanel. No one really owns these features, but they do tend to make you think of other companies and products when they are used by firms who didn’t originate them.
About this ring … the brand explains, “Inspired by the sinuous flow of postmodern architecture, this collection by Roberto Coin represents the material shape of the most romantic side of a woman’s imagination.”
It has about .18 carats of white diamonds set into 18k yellow gold, and sells for CAD$3,070.
