Under Tomas Maier, Bottega Veneta crafted an image based on sleek silhouettes, the intrecciato weave of their bags, no logos or word marks, and a generally elevated design approach. Under new designer, Daniel Lee, the brand’s identity seems somehow blurrier. While this necklace is nice enough, it doesn’t say Bottega Veneta to me – it could have (and has been) made by many designers.
With an elevated design approach often comes an elevated price. This necklace, made of sterling silver plated in gold, sells for USD$6,300.
