Jewel of the day: Edwardian Coronation Enamel Brooch and Pendant

This is about as Edwardian as it gets, having been made to commemorate the coronation of Edward the VII. Given that my first initial is E, I must say I am quite smitten with this set.

Available from Butter Lane Antiques, the diamond, pearl, enamel and 9k gold pieces are described this way: “An especially lovely Edwardian pendant and brooch suite with the original tooled leather presentation box. The pieces both feature stunning green guilloché enamelling within a white enamel border, and to the centre royal cypher of King Edward VII. The brooch is round with halo of diamonds and pearls with a locket compartment to the back, and it features a crown above the E . The pendant is heart shaped, with a diamond-set bow on top. They both remain in excellent condition.”

This sells for USD$4,500.
