I am familiar with Robert Mapplethorpe and his photography but I did not know that he also designed jewelry. These were primarily given as gifts or love tokens and not for sale. Mapplethorpe used found objects and his pieces had a clean, unfussy look to them.

Jeweller Repossi has drawn from Mapplethorpe’s aesthetic to create their own pieces inspired by him. Here, a pearl pendant with rock crystal and steel.
