Jewel of the day: Meghan Markle’s Wedding Tiara

Are you all royal wedding’d out yet? No? Well, Meghan didn’t wear the Spencer tiara, but a piece from the collection of Queen Mary that was bequeathed to Queen Elizabeth upon the former’s death.

Known as the Bandeau Tiara, Kensington Palace explained, “The diamond bandeau is English and was made in 1932, with the entre brooch dating from 1893.”

I’m just jealous that the Queen invited Meghan to the palace to pick something out. The thought of being able to play with the jewels in her collection … swoon.

Here is a closeup of the tiara, and as worn by both Queen Mary and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

  1. I don’t think Queen Mary would have approved, but the tiara is gorgeous and I too would love to play in Queen Elizabeth’s jewel box!
