The artisan, Checha, has had a varied career: “Checha grew up in Yugoslavia. In 1994, she moved to Canada and later to Seattle to pursue a career in architecture and interior design. After years of collecting unique pieces of jewelry from all around the world and developing her connoisseur’s eye and aesthetic, she recently began making her own jewelry, exploring architectural forms and materials in unexpected scale.

In her brief jewelry making career, Checha has already participated in several group shows, including 3 x 2 at Facere Jewelry Art Gallery, Made at Prattat Pratt Gallery at Tashiro Kaplan Studios, Vs. the Matador at Soil and Strangers at The State Hotel Gallery in Seattle, WA, Ornamental Envy at artEAST Gallery in Issaquah, WA and Inventive Illusions at Influx Jewelry Gallery in Calgary, AB. She has developed an extended body of work and some of it has been represented by Bellevue Arts Museum Store and KOBO Gallery in Seattle.”
