While in San Antonio recently, I had the good fortune to wander into Equinox, the gallery owned by Alejandro Sifuentes. In addition to hosting the work of other artists, there is also a good selection of his own designs (one of which I went home with and which will be highlighted in a future post). Alejandro was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge and I only wish I had had unlimited funds with which to peruse the shop. (His gallery manager Jared is lovely, warm and welcoming, so if you are looking for something a bit different in the San Antonio area, I encourage you to visit.) The shop is located in the La Villita history arts area and there is a website with a good selection of what’s in the shop should you be unable to visit in person.
This ring is described this way: “Part of Alejandro’s original Rock Candy series, this rutilated quartz ring features a clear crystal with pine needle rutiles, measuring at 22mm x 17mm x 8.3mm. Set in 18k gold and cast in britannia silver, the satin finish gives the ring a wonderfully smooth, matte surface.”
It sells for USD$500.
