Tanzanites are so pretty and seem to be the poor cousin to blue sapphires in terms of popularity. This lovely ring is by Anueva Jewelry, and features a custom designed ring in a 14k gold setting.
The designer explains, “This tanzanite is so special because it is UNTREATED! Without treatment, it’s true multi-color properties shine! You’ll see both blues and purple tones in this stone, making it totally unique. The tanzanite is also ethically traceable from a reputable source right from the mine in Tanzania, and proceeds of the purchase of the stone go right back to an organization providing services to the communities there. The stone measures 8mm long by 6mm wide and is an elongated cushion cut. The complimentary diamond halo makes the setting 11mm x 8.8mm and sparkles with high grade G color VS white diamonds in 0.20ctw. Perfect for stacking with a wedding or anniversary band, the head of this ring sits above the finger in a contemporary vaulted design, keeping the space below the tanzanite free from metal, allowing a clear view through the stone. The dainty diamond band measures 1.5mm near the head. The ring is a size 6.5 and is resizable with limitations at no charge. Once resized, however, it is non refundable. Please allow an additional week for resizing. ”
This would indeed make a lovely engagement ring, and it sells for a reasonable USD$1,400.
