Even though holly is most closely associated with Christmas, this pretty 1960s brooch would look good on a lapel (or skirt, or hat) year round. Offered by Ruby Lane seller Josephine’s Fine Jewelry with a Past, the seller notes, “The details are exquisitely crafted with a textured Florentine finish on the leaves which are neatly edged with shiny polished gold. The seven 1.5 mm single cut diamonds sparkle down the white gold veins with added beaded details.
This is not a small brooch, measuring at 2 1/4″ by 1 1/4″ and it weighs 14.9 grams or 9.5 pennyweights. It is marked 750 and 88A, which I believe is Italian in origin.”
This sells for USD$895.
