Out of all the vintage jewelry I’ve seen, I’ve found myself least drawn to plastics like Galalith and Bakelite. Fortunately for me, because really good exemplars can go for very big bucks.

Here, Mark Davis uses a vintage Bakelite bangle bracelet he has set with 1.28 carats of yellow sapphires in 18k yellow gold collars. This sells for USD$1950 from Barneys.
