I had the pleasure of meeting designer Lele Sadoughi and briefly discussing her spring designs with her. Foremost among them is this showstopper Peking Headdress Necklace, based on a Chinese headdress. It is made with hand-cut hoplite and marble petals in 14k gold plated settings, accented with nylon tassels, wooden beads and crystals. It is 18 inches long, with an additional 3 inches on the chain extender.
This necklace packs a style punch, but is also light enough in weight and appearance to be a coveted summer style accent. It sells for USD495. Her design background is worth reading about here.

The inspiration of a headdress is quite clever. Having said that, I wish more jewelry companies would release headpieces. The hair is an under-used location for sparkle. 🙂
