Ivory is no longer legally used in the manufacture of jewellery or decorative items, and with very good reason. However, for a very long time, it was made into pieces like this very pretty pendant, a woman kneeling under a willow tree. It is beautifully carved and has stood the test of time well. The pendant measures measures 1 1/2″ by 2 1/4″, not including the bail.
It is offered by Darlene Morris Antiques through Trocadero.com, and sells for USD$850.
