Jewel of the day: Saint Laurent Punk Skeleton Necklace

A little while back, whoever it is who owns the rights to the Yves Saint Laurent name decided to do away with Yves and go strictly by Saint Laurent. YSL was known for a kind of subversive elegance, putting women into “le smoking” tuxedo jackets with no shirt, and looking to traditional garb like Russian peasant dress to create memorable silhouettes and collections.

I don’t think I would have associated punk with Y or SL at all (no matter how you decide to state the name) and this has to be one of the more ladylike skeletons I’ve ever seen. But Halloween is coming and if you want to mark it this way instead of by wearing those egregious kitten headpieces, then punk on.

Made of oxidized silver tone brass, this sells for USD$395 at Barneys.
