Jewel of the day: Diamond Cloak Pins

I’m trying to imagine who wore these wonderful diamond flowerhead cloak pins, joined with a diamond set chain. Was it on a velvet opera cloak? Something lighter, perhaps for a wedding? Just the words “cloak pins,” so archaic, conjure up visions of a time gone by. These were associated with a very luxe time in someone’s life.

For sale by Christie’s South Kensington, London on September 16, they have a resale estimate of USD$13,000-$16,000. Just in time for bundling up in your own cloak.
