Jewel of the day: Antique Shamrock Pin

Top ‘o the morning to you, and happy St. Patrick’s Day if you celebrate. Even if you don’t, this pretty little shamrock pin is a fresh way to greet spring.

From Ruby Lane’s Acanthus Antiques, it is described as, “a wonderful Art Nouveau period 14K gold and enamel four leaf clover on a wishbone pin, c. 1900. The four leaf clover and wishbone, both symbols for good luck, were often used in that period. It appears that the original clasp was replaced with a more secure contemporary one. The piece tests and is guaranteed to be 14K. It measures 1 1/2″ by 3/4″ and is in very good condition with no loss to the enameling.”

This sells for USD $695.
