Joshua DeMonte is an artist who uses 3D printing to render architectural designs into wearable art. Philadelphia based, he has created some really amazing pieces, like this aqueduct neck piece. I believe it sells in the vicinity of about USD $5000, and is made of gypsum and cyanoacrylate.
3D printing is really in its infancy and I think we are going to continue to see some very interesting pieces as artists, designers and jewellers (and those who produce the printing technology) expand the horizons of what these printers can do.
