Jewel of the day: Chanel Mademoiselle Prive Watch

Chanel is currently best known for it’s J12 ceramic watch which started as craze for white ceramic watches that is still going relatively strong.

The firm has now introduced its Mademoiselle Prive, which they describe as featuring a case in 18K white gold, set with 60 brilliant-cut diamonds. (~ 1 carat). Matte black dial set with 5 brilliant-cut diamonds (~0.11 carat) and 5 navette-cut yellow sapphires (~0.09 carat). Camella motif in 23K gold, hand engraved and polished. Self-winding mechanical movement. 42 hour power reserve.  Onyx cabochon crown. Black satin strap with ardillon buckle set with 80 brilliant-cut diamonds. Diameter: 37.5 mm.

Although no price is indicated, it’s a good bet that the use of the word black so often is code to let you know you will need to get out your black Amex to pay for it.
