I’ve been pretty discouraged about blogging red carpets because there is rarely anything worth blogging about when it comes to jewellery. I looked at photos from the Critics’ Choice Awards (what? who?) and saw absolutely nothing worth posting.

But here is Oprah Winfrey, who should at least get an award for interesting brooch placement. No idea what this is made of (though I’ve seen her jewellery credited to Lorraine Schwartz, natch, I am not sure if it includes this pin), but I do like the fact that she didn’t let an asymmetrical neckline dissuade her from a) not only wearing a brooch but b) using it with fairly creative placement. (Though of course it’s possible she created the asymmetrical neckline by wearing a pin so heavy it pulled the whole thing down. Something to ponder.) Score one for Oprah.
