It’s a tad disconcerting to find a great piece by a designer you’ve never heard of and read that they are all the rage somewhere. In this case, Europe, mostly. It’s just ongoing confirmation that there are so many more jewellery designers out there than I have ever heard of.

Katie Hillier has designed for a slew of well-knowns; here, under her own name, she indulges her love of animals with this cute paperclip shaped bunny necklace. it is rendered in 18k rose gold on an 18 inch chain. The description says the eye is made of a “red claret diamond”. Hmmm.

Hillier also offers the paperclip form in an elephant, and has several other whimsical animal designs on offer in slightly more solid format. This one sells for USD $1,450.
