As big a fan of glitz as I am, I often find that Swarovski designs can be very kitchen sink. Too many colours or elements or just “look” for one piece. But when they get it right, they get it very right.

I saw these Bella earrings on a colleague and was a bit surprised to hear that they were Swarovski. I was even more delighted that she had purchased them recently so I scooted over to the nearest Swarovski store to get myself a pair.

They are really perfect: large and bold without being too much for day wear, close to the ear, and the brilliance is very attention-getting without being cheap looking. The stock photo below makes them look cloudy and even somewhat sci-fi; the picture of the earrings on the model are much closer to what they look like in real life.

I was also very happy that they have French backs that close all the way instead of the wires that can be prone to slipping out of your ear, especially if you have long hair. Best of all, they are a reasonable Cdn $85 (guessing that means they are $5 or $10 less in the US). They also come in a grey stone in a white metal setting but those seemed to lack sparkle to me.
