Jewel of the day: Turkish gold bracelet

This bracelet was purchased by my late mother-in-law. I’m not sure how old it is but I do know it was purchased in Istanbul, where she was born, on a visit when she was in (I think) her early 20s.

It is completely unmarked but tested at 18k. What I love about it is that the spring ring closure is rose gold, not the yellow of the rest of the links. I have an image of her buying a length of gold chain in a bazaar, and then later having the ring made to close it as a bracelet. I also really like how contemporary it looks, despite being at least 60 years old, if not older. It has a classic, understated look that is just as appealing today as it was when it caught her eye all those years ago.
