This spectacular and very unique antique necklace, offered by Faberge specialist Wartski, is made of gilded silver set with pieces of cabochon Roman era glass. Warski dates it as 1840, and English in origin. Truly a one of a kind piece. Despite the materials (glass and gold plated silver) I am sure this commands a significant (and well-deserved) price. Funny to think that today, “silver and glass” is considered disposable costume jewellery. Amazing to see how well this has stood the test of time. Price is available upon request.
