Sapphire is the September birthstone, and who better to go to than Garrard, maker of the (in)famous sapphire and diamond ring worn by both Diana, Princess of Wales and her daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton.

This sapphire is a tiny bit more restrained, at 6.24 carats, with round white diamonds accenting the centre stone. The Diana/Kate ring is roughly 12 carats (and variously reported to be as large as 18 carats, which may have actually been confusion with the karat gold). A nice way to mark the birthday of a special September baby.
