Jewel of the day: Cristophe de Menil seaweed necklace

This piece, to me, is joyous and contemplative at the same time. Cristophe de Menil’s surname is probably better known for the museum in Dallas which bears her family’s name; she is well-known in the art world and turned to jewellery design in her 70s. (For a fascinating article about her, read this profile in W Magazine.)

The necklace shown here is sterling with gold plate; it is also available in sterling with rhodium plating. Price is available upon request.

    1. It keeps the sterling from visibly tarnishing and gives a shinier finish that some designers like.
