I had the pleasure of previewing Swarovski’s fall 2012 collection, themed “Kingdom of Jewels”. Expect baroque meets rock and roll: deep colours (plums, steel greys, reds, blues) with a lot of chain, studs, and pave work. There are also new collections for the Disney, small accessory, men’s and other standard Swarovksi groupings, all with the new theme.

My personal favourite in the entire collection is the Sexy bracelet, studs in moody colours that appeared to be attached with beading that runs on the reverse side of the piece. Anticipated retail for this piece is Cdn $675; there is also a matching necklace.

The Seductive earrings are made by hand using crystals on cord, and intended to recall Chinese embroidery. They looked very haute couture to me, and were pleasingly light to wear. Retail is projected to be Cdn $175.

And lest you think that Swarvoski had abandoned colour (don’t worry, there are a lot of very colourful items in the collection) the star campaign piece is the Serena necklace; it’s a lot of look.  Its projected retail price is Cdn $1300.

The collection should begin showing up in stores in August.
