Jewel of the day: Judith Hoyt Green Eye brooch

American artisan Judith Hoyt works with discarded metals to create art and jewellery; she likes the way the aging and corrosion they undergo helps tell a tactile story that can be used in her work.

She is the subject of an exhibit at Facere Jewelery Art Gallery in Seattle, running until May 23. Her work can be bought from the store online. This brooch is made of reclaimed metals, copper and stainless steel and is USD $430.
