I was at Tiffany’s yesterday with a friend and, browsing the counters on our way out, spotted a gorgeous and delicate pearl drop necklace. Tiny pearls and diamonds, perfect for a bride, or a summer’s day, or just because. It was displayed with items from their Victoria collection but when I went online, I couldn’t locate it. I did find this stunning pearl strand, with 11-14 mm pearls (oddly, they don’t specify what type of pearls these are though the price leads me to believe they are South Sea). The star of the show is the clasp in the form of a daisy, which is described thus: Cushion-cut yellow diamond (center), carat total weight .66; round brilliant white diamonds, carat total weight .78; round brilliant fancy yellow diamonds, carat total weight .08.
Pearls used to be the mark of a lady and they have waxed and waned in popularity (and styles) over the years. This strand packs such a style punch, that if you were to have only one, it wouled be hard to say no to this one (provided you had the USD $75,000 Tiffany is asking.) The good news: I’m guessing the price of that sweet pearl and diamond necklace will seem like a huge bargain by comparison when I eventually find it.
