This is one of those pieces that is beautiful to look at and in my opinion, frightening to wear. It’s made of onyx and being a bracelet, all it would take is one knock against a desk, or a car door while opening, or going through a revolving door … and bye bye bracelet. I’m not being an alarmist; I had this happen to a fairly inexpensive ring made out of onyx. I reached for something, my hand slipped and hit a glass table and the ring cracked and broke. Apparently, Gehry also did this for Tiffany in porcelain which actually would probably be more durable but still a scary proposition.
