This clip by famed Parisian jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels is made of blue chalcedony and diamonds set in white gold. On the VCA web site, it shown pinned into the model’s hair. Clips used to be wildly popular – worn on the lapel or in the hair and it’s nice to see they are still being made.

The design is reminiscent of a necklace worn by the Duchess of Windsor, made of blue chalcedony beads with a centre flower similar to this one; that piece is attributed to French designer Belperron. (Kenneth Jay Lane also made versions of that piece.)
