Monet has a storied background as an American costume jewellery manufacturer. Many of their contemporaries fell victim to cheap offshore production, changing tastes in accessories, and increased production costs but Monet is one of the few that is still standing tall – this will be their 82nd year in business. Today, they offer an array of jewellery including a selection of sterling silver and semi-precious stones.

This ring is set with a cabochon (looks to be sugar loaf cut) amethyst in a simple sterling silver setting. Reminds me of some of the Italian pieces seen by designers like Pomellato. Price is USD $149 and it’s available here.
