I am tempted to call this the Curious Case of the Disappearing Jewellery … Ann Dexter-Jones’s line was launched with some fanfare a few years ago but the cryptic comment on the Colette website makes me wonder if she is producing any new pieces: “Famous partially for her famous children [Mark and Samantha Ronson] Ann Dexter-Jones [editor in particular for the New York Times] launches her own line of jewels. Her collection, which uses a wide range of materials [onyx, opal, lazuli, crystals, diamonds] is of rock-glamorous inspiration and conceived in small studios with a know-how in process how to disappear. Unfortunately…”
She comes by her rock pedigree honestly, as the ex-wife of Foreigner performer Mick Jones. Her web site lists stores where she can be bought; this bracelet can be purchased from France’s Colette. Made with large pieces of quartz, lapis and topaz and strung on yellow gold, it retails for 4770 Euro (less if VAT is removed). Dexter-Jones is a reiki master and reportedly cleanses pieces of negative energy… perhaps an overenthusiastic scrubbing made the line itself go “poof!”
