Joan Hornig has a very unique approach to her business – it is actually a philanthropic endeavour. All profits from each piece sold go to a charity, which may be chosen by the purchaser. She publishes a newsletter, Philanthropy is Beautiful, where readers can learn more about the charities people have chosen and about the jewelry. Hornig notes on her site, “Her model of giving 100% of the profits on each piece to the purchaser’s charity of choice challenges women to use beauty and fashion in a new way.” Indeed it does!
The confetti look of this necklace is most appealing and I am in love with the clasp which gives the piece its name. Made of lapis stones, with citrines sprinkled in and an 18k gold clasp, this sells for USD $3800.
