As a fan of opals, I also like nice pieces of labradorite. A type of feldspar commonly found in Labrador, Canada, pieces are typically grey/blue with sparks of colour within the stones.
Pippa Small has set labradorite slices into 18k gold frames, and stranded them from this enchanting necklace. This would make a really lovely alternative to the traditional holiday sparkle, and would look just as nice worn on a beach as to a gala event. Available from Net-A-Porter for USD$8,960.
